Networkshop 2025
We were excited to be part of this year’s Jisc Networkshop. For those who don’t know, it’s one of the UK’s biggest and most important gatherings for anyone involved in the digital networks that keep universities and research centres running smoothly.
Representing European Electronique at the event were Mark Haycock, Paul Ryder, and Peter Wainwright — three people in our team who are passionate about supporting digital infrastructure in education and research.
One of the highlights for us was hearing about the evolution of the Janet Network. It’s the backbone of connectivity for education and research across the UK, and it’s amazing to see how it’s growing to support everything from remote learning to cutting-edge research projects.
Listening to universities and colleges talk about the real impact of good, reliable connectivity – whether it’s helping students’ study from home or enabling researchers to collaborate internationally – reminded us why what we do matters.
What We Took Away:
For us at European Electronique, attending Networkshop wasn’t just about learning – it was about connecting. Mark, Paul, and Peter spoke to attendees about the challenges and opportunities the sector faces.
We’re proud that the solutions we provide – whether it’s top-quality networking hardware or advice on securing and future-proofing systems – play a part in supporting education. Events like this inspire us to keep pushing for innovation and excellence.
Looking to the Future
We left Networkshop feeling inspired and full of fresh ideas. The passion and collaboration we witnessed reinforced how vital strong, secure networks are for the UK’s education landscape.
A big thank you to Jisc for putting on such a fantastic event and to everyone who took the time to chat with us. We’re excited to keep building relationships and supporting the sector’s digital journey as it moves forward.
